About the Role
Support a mission that nourishes students every day by ensuring thousands of students receive healthy, delicious meals every school day. This is a key behind-the-scenes role that helps ensure our school nutrition department runs smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls and assist parents or team members with lunch account questions, particularly using the Nutri-Kids POS system.
- Handle attendance tracking and ensure accurate and timely team payment processing using ADP.
- Close out cash registers, reconcile daily deposits, and organize all records.
- Enter meal counts, sales, and data into the Dine Central system.
- Coordinate lunch counts, daily menus, and deliveries to satellite schools.
- Print signage, menus, and marketing materials for school cafeterias.
- Assist with staff training, safety audits, and inventory tasks.
- Provide support at school sites, including cooking, production, and serving when needed.
- Serve as a resource for the manager and a connector for the team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate Degree preferred.
- Basic bookkeeping and strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Culinary experience.
- Previous office, school nutrition, or administrative experience is a plus.
- Clear communicator with strong phone and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-focused and dependable, with strong time management abilities.
- Team player who enjoys helping others and creating a positive work environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems and food safety standards is helpful (training provided).
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to travel between schools when needed.
- ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Basic bookkeeping skills required.
- Experience with Nutri-Kids, Dine Central, ADP Rapid Pay, and Salesforce preferred or willingness to learn upon hire.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Good phone and customer service skills.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality in all student and staff matters.
- Must be able to drive a personal vehicle to other work sites as needed.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
