About the Role
The Engineering Assistant is a field role that will provide hands-on and technical support to engineers and other staff, assisting with the development and implementation of engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance projects. This role will involve research, data collection and analysis, design drafting (AutoCAD), and document preparation, as well as hands-on support for equipment assembly, maintenance and operation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to engineers.
- Perform research and analysis of engineering data.
- Create and maintain engineering documents (AutoCAD).
- Assist in the development and implementation of engineering projects.
- Verify the accuracy of engineering calculations.
- Support the research and development of new engineering designs.
- Work with Technicians on the assembly and repair of equipment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 to 5 yrs. experience in a manufacturing and or maintenance environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Intimate knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs.
- Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, grasp, carry, push, and pull.
- Must be able to pass airport badge screening process.
Skills
- Familiar with 12VDC Systems
- PLC knowledge a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite—Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to travel (average 25% to 40%)
