About the Role

We are hiring a forward-deployed software engineer to be the technical owner of our growth platform, which manages the entire funnel from public marketing site to sales proposals. You will work at the intersection of engineering, marketing, and sales, embedded with stakeholders to understand and improve their workflows. A significant part of the role involves building AI agents and automation to streamline processes and reduce manual work. You will be the single technical point of responsibility for these services, partnering with stakeholders to define strategy, own production, and represent the platform in cross-team discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the top of the funnel: curative.com (Next.js site on Vercel, statically generated from Strapi), focusing on speed, SEO, accessibility, and uptime.
  • Own the bottom of the funnel: underwriting and group lifecycle platform, managing the process from RFP to closed deal, replacing Salesforce and MuleSoft.
  • Support marketing's paid campaigns, including audience data, tracking, and conversion signal integrity.
  • Develop AI leverage through tooling, prompts, skills, and evaluations to enhance engineer productivity.
  • Build and extend AI agents for RFP intake, sales-ops automation, and other tasks.
  • Manage conversion and experimentation, including tracking accuracy and A/B test validity.
  • Oversee lead capture processes: forms, validation, bot defense, routing, and attribution.
  • Manage production infrastructure, deploys (Vercel and Kubernetes), observability, on-call rotations, and costs.
  • Track and analyze funnel metrics: conversion by source, lead-to-RFP rate, time-to-quote, win/loss by segment and broker.
  • Manage integrations with marketing and sales tooling.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product stakeholders on roadmap planning, requirement gathering, and technical strategy.
  • Develop deep domain expertise of the funnel within 90 days to inform prompt engineering and system design.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience shipping production software.
  • Fluency in Python and TypeScript, including Next.js, React, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy.
  • Experience owning a public-facing website with server-side rendering, static generation, CDN, cache behavior, Core Web Vitals, SEO, redirects, and accessibility.
  • Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals, including query plan analysis, N+1 detection, and safe migration practices.
  • Literacy in analytics and experimentation, including funnel instrumentation, A/B testing, and data validation.
  • A correctness mindset with experience building systems that require verifiable output.
  • Strong systems thinking and architecture design skills, including failure mode analysis and blast radius reasoning.
  • Production cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or equivalent) and on-call experience.
  • Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders to extract requirements and build consensus.
  • Product and design taste, with the ability to engage in conversations with designers and brand leads.
  • Interest in growth as a discipline and understanding of demand creation, funnel leakage, and optimization.
  • Sharp written communication skills for prompts, specs, and PR descriptions.
  • Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as a primary development tool.
  • Ability to review AI-generated code, identify subtle bugs, and maintain high standards.
  • Experience building tooling to enhance AI effectiveness (skills, evals, fixtures, integrations).
  • Understanding that AI leverage enables engineers to own product surfaces and stay close to users.
