About the Role

Responsible for answering customer questions and selling products to meet sales goals. This role involves maintaining customer service standards, generating sales, merchandising, operating the POS system, loss prevention, and adhering to company policies. Responsibilities

  • Handles all aspects of Sales and Customer Service.
  • Enhances sales staff accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions, teaching improved processes, and mentoring team members.
  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning daily work schedules.
  • Adjusts sales presentations based on sales outlet or trade factors.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying dealer volume.
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Informs management of activity and results through reports.
  • Monitors competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, and merchandising.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy based on results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
  • Provides historical sales records.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results.
  • Generates and maximizes sales by convincing clients to purchase products.
  • Maintains awareness of product knowledge and merchandise care information.
  • Stays updated on new items, customer service guidelines, and store policies.
  • Develops and maintains client books.
  • Keeps records of sales.
  • Follows customer service guidelines for greetings, returns, exchanges, transfers, and loss prevention.
  • Greets, serves, and advises clients with outstanding customer service.
  • Gift wraps and bags items for customers.
  • Assists with mailings, answers the phone, and takes phone orders.
  • Assists with floor moves, merchandising, and displays.
  • Assists in processing and replenishing merchandise.
  • Participates in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
  • Stocks and re-stocks shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise.
  • Tags merchandise as needed.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean and orderly.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Accurately and efficiently completes sales transactions and maintains POS register accountability.
  • Works on special projects as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma (or GED).
  • Degree in Retail, Fashion, or related field, or equivalent work experience and education.
  • Five plus years of high-end retail, boutique, or sales-related work experience.
  • Understand inventory, customer sales experience, and merchandising.
  • Proficient with Cegid transactions (sales, returns, exchanges, look-ups, CRM, reports, register operations).
  • Proficient with the UPS System.
  • Properly prepare and send shipments.
  • Properly receive and check shipments.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
  • Requires customary and regular independent judgment and discretionary powers.
  • Familiar with store operations.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively with associates and customers using strong interpersonal skills.
  • An organized, self-starter with the ability to work in a multi-task fast-paced environment with minimum supervision under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to read and understand work-related materials.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Experience with researching and exploring new trends in the marketplace.
  • May travel between boutiques as necessary.
  • Ability to work varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, or holidays as business dictates.
  • An understanding of the French language would be a plus.
