About the Role
The purpose of this role is to partner with stakeholders globally to design, document and embed scalable operating models, controls and third-party service arrangements that enable new investment capabilities and strengthen existing ones within the HSBC Asset Management Alternatives team.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and set-up of operating models for new and evolving Alternatives capabilities, including portfolio/fund structures across asset classes, countries and entities.
- Help deliver changes to existing operating models to reflect new services, processes, controls and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to a global operating framework, including complexity and risk assessments, and end-to-end documentation aligned to HSBC standards.
- Drive end-to-end process mapping in collaboration with Functional Architecture, 1st Line of Defence Risk & Controls and 2nd Line of Defence to ensure appropriate review and assurance.
- Assist with third-party provider engagement (e.g., fund administrators, loan services, transfer agents, custodians, cash management solutions), including initial set-up and ongoing service assessment.
- Support inorganic initiatives and cross-border transactions by contributing to operational due diligence, integration planning, impact/cost assessment, and risk & issues management.
Requirements
- Experience in investment operations / middle office within asset management (or other similar domains), with exposure to alternative investment products would be essential; Real Assets and/or Private Credit operating models and fund structures are desirable.
- Strong project management, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver accurately to deadlines.
- Demonstrated capability in operational risk management in a changing environment, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience working with outsourced service providers and assessing operational/technology service offerings.
- Commercially minded and client-centric, able to translate complex information into pragmatic operational solutions.
- Clear, confident communicator able to engage professionally with clients, investors and colleagues across geographies.
