About the Role

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all customers. Responsible for assisting with the operation of the Produce department, including merchandising, rotation, and inventory levels to promote optimal sales. Assists the Produce Manager with budgeting and financial aspects of the department and oversees clerks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service.
  • Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers upon fulfilling requests.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
  • Assist the Produce Manager with daily department operations, including product merchandising, arrangements, displays, rotation, inventory levels, and scheduling.
  • Assist with ordering merchandise and supplies for the Produce Department.
  • Rotate and examine perishable product to ensure proper quality, code, and condition.
  • Ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders and deliveries.
  • Ensure associates adhere to company and state sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of customer courtesy and service throughout the store.
  • Assist with training and scheduling of produce associates.
  • Operate produce equipment, including scales and juice/pineapple machines.
  • Assume Produce Manager responsibilities as needed.
  • Assist with all Produce department responsibilities per company guidelines.
  • Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
  • Satisfactory performance reviews.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 6-12 months of related experience.

  • 6-12 months of related experience

Education Level

  • High School Degree or equivalent

Salary/Compensations

  • $18.75 - $25.50
