About the Role

Accountable for the assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation during the pre-operative and post-operative phases of nursing care. Develops, implements, manages, and coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care, fostering collaborative relationships and adhering to policies and best practices to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, manages, and coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors into the plan of care.
• Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Ensures timely and effective communication.
• Adheres to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations/codes.
• Promotes a quality, highly reliable patient experience.
• Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.
• Manages, stores, prepares, receives, unpacks, transports, disposes of, or administers hazardous drugs in accordance with USP 800 guidelines.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN-Registered Nurse of California.
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
• ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• 2 years recent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and competence with nursing theories, concepts, and practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Working knowledge of the healthcare industry.
• Working knowledge of safety precaution policies.
• Working knowledge of best practices regarding patient care and privacy.
• Working knowledge of changes in local/state/federal regulations.
• Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
• Basic knowledge of Electronic Health Record systems.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods.
• Ability to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
• Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
