About the Role
As a Trade Operations Collateral Manager, you’ll support the investment process for Capital Group. You have a genuine interest in collateral management, derivatives, and fixed income securities, along with a strong focus on client centricity. You’ll play a critical oversight role in the post-trade process, supporting margin management, collateral obligations, product lifecycle activities, and settlement functions. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders, including our Investment Group, Legal and Compliance teams, vendors, brokers, custodians, and client relationship teams. Your expertise and leadership will be leveraged through your ability to serve as a technical subject matter expert. You will demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a proactive approach to issue management while providing guidance, mentorship, and technical coaching to associates.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with senior manager to select, develop and maintain an effective team.
- Works closely with senior associates to analyse/revise workflow as needed.
- Continues to assess workflow to identify efficiencies and streamline opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- Ensures adequate staffing to complete team responsibilities as well as the work across teams.
- Monitors trends and areas where work can be more effective and efficient.
- Identifies issues and trends related to processes, manages risk and supports operational changes to improve workflow and effectiveness.
- May assist to help complete the work when volumes are heavy.
- Leads a team(s) within Global Investment Control (GIC).
- Maintains oversight of work to ensure the highest level of service is efficiently delivered, with risk mitigated and escalated appropriately.
- Establishes individual and team goals/objectives for associates to support broader business area objectives.
- Understands, identifies and acts on the inherent and emergent risks in the operations of the team and its activities.
- Assesses resource needs on a forward-looking basis and makes staffing recommendations.
- Provides guidance on complex and/or ambiguous operational issues, technical questions, business processes and management issues.
- Resolves complex problems related to investment support and risk management.
- Keeps abreast of both internal and external trends and makes recommendations to better align with evolving business priorities.
- May represent GIC in a variety of interactions with clients, investment group professionals, senior business leaders, vendors or industry counterparts.
