About the Role

The Outdoor Pursuits Attendant role is a very hands-on position focused on providing members with personal and professional service related to outdoor activities. This role involves organizing, instructing, and encouraging participation in various activities on property, contributing to the overall Discovery Land Company experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Outdoor Pursuits Standard Operating Procedure at all times.
• Be on safety cover and lifeguard duties for on-water activities.
• Perform duties such as stocking, cleaning, and preparing for member excursions and activities.
• Carry out weekly safety checks on the Powerboat fleet.
• Attend morning briefings and end-of-day shut downs.
• Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings for Outdoor Pursuits.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers.
• Act as an ambassador for the property and DLC at all times.
• Maintain adherence to the Employee Handbook.
• Be punctual for shifts and job assignments.
• Assist in implementing monthly stock takes/inventories of parts and tools.
• Greet all members.
• Participate in activities and games with members.
• Facilitate sporting and special events.
• Arrange seating for members, moving chairs and umbrellas.
• Supply members with towels.
• Keep towels and suntan lotion stocked at stations.
• Assist members in and out of the water with water equipment.
• Ensure the safety of members and children in and around pools and beaches.
• Make bonfires.
• Greet and park golf carts at the Valet station.
• Attend to members and guests utilizing Outdoor Pursuits areas, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
• Assist members and guests in all activities.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the guest service industry.
• CPR certification is a plus.
• Boat captain's license is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours and on the weekends.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
