About the Role

Austin Lighthouse for the Blind is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for economic and personal independence for people who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf blind. Responsibilities

  • Lead floor activities in the Fabric Repair department.
  • Operate power sewing machines to sew, alter, or repair military apparel, backpacks, and assigned fabric articles.
  • Assist with entering data to track repair production and generate reports.
  • Maintain adequate stock of repair materials and supplies.
  • Assist the Supervisor in determining economic repairability of items.
  • Verify product quality meets TAB/Army standards.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate the team for productivity, morale, and engagement.
  • Communicate company policies, announcements, and general information to employees.
  • Promote TAB's Safety and Security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Hold self and others accountable for adhering to TAB's Core Values (LIGHT).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all repair's raw materials.
  • Ability to manage the repair team's day-to-day floor operations.
  • Proficiency in quality control and techniques for maximizing manufacture and distribution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ethics and discretion with confidential or sensitive information.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Demonstrates sound work ethic.
  • Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and inspire teams for positive results.
  • Make decisions as per Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies.
  • Background Check and Drug Screen required.
  • Verifiable documentation of ability to work in the US.
