About the Role

As a Senior Tax Manager in the Lead Tax Services team, you will lead multiple client service teams, manage complex projects, and provide innovative tax solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, a mentor to staff and managers, and a thought leader to the partner group, influencing firm strategy and building long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple client service teams, managing projects effectively and efficiently, including billing and accounts receivable responsibilities
  • Review federal and state income tax returns for corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and individual clients
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and anticipating client needs
  • Provide forward-thinking tax planning strategies, compliance expertise, and technical tax research
  • Prepare and review detailed technical tax memoranda
  • Identify and manage risks associated with tax services to ensure compliance and protect client and firm interests
  • Mentor and develop staff and managers, providing regular feedback and conducting both formal and informal performance evaluations
  • Serve as a resource and thought partner to the leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and client service excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Active CPA license required
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a corporate/public blend
  • Proven success in engagement and client management, with a track record of growing and sustaining client relationships
  • Strong technical expertise in federal and state taxation, including Subchapter C and provision experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a passion for mentoring, developing, and guiding high-performing teams

  • Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire

Skills

  • Master’s in Taxation or LLM strongly preferred
  • Subchapter K experience preferred
  • Excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills
