About the Role
The Property Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily upkeep of the entire property, including monitoring, maintaining, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on hotel property and equipment. This role requires living on property, being on call for emergencies, and assisting with Property Attendant duties.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that grounds are clean and free of trash and debris.
- Ensure the building is properly maintained by cleaning siding and walkways.
- Ensure that vacant rooms are in good repair, including walls, appliances, furniture, carpet, and cabinets.
- Conduct maintenance room punch including drywall repairs, paint, general repairs, and carpet shampooing.
- Perform preventive maintenance of guest rooms on a scheduled basis.
- Ensure service requests are performed in a timely manner.
- Respond to all emergency calls in a timely manner.
- Maintain interior hallway carpets.
- Notify Supervisor immediately of any safety or security violations.
- Notify Supervisor of any guest concerns.
- Reconcile daily paperwork with supervisor prior to end of shift.
- Perform functions as outlined in Property Attendant Job Description, Property Maintenance Technician Resident and On-Call Agreement.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain knowledge of security and safety equipment, including location and operation.
Requirements
- Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language to interact with guests and staff.
- Follow instructions efficiently.
- Ability to compose and express thoughts in a clear and understandable way to ensure effective communication.
- Ability to manage multiple activities often in stressful situations.
- Possess working knowledge of air conditioning systems and equipment, including installation, maintenance and repair.
- Possess knowledge and ability to perform a variety of general maintenance repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify needs and parts.
- Possess working knowledge of electrical systems and components, electrical supplies and materials and the proper application of the same.
- Ability to organize oneself and one’s work.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to work long hours on a regular basis, as business conditions demand.
- Ability to reach with arms outstretched or overhead.
Skills
- General maintenance repairs

- Operating hand and power tools (drills, volt-OHM meter, amprobe, etc.)
- Operating dial indicators and testing equipment for air, water balancing and control calibration
