Responsibilities
- Manage overall Market Center (MC) Service results, including customer retention, growth, loss, ruin, piece budget, safety, employee retention, accounts receivable collection, renewals, Vestis Direct Sales, customer satisfaction, route sales, and credits.
- Evaluate, coach, and develop Service personnel, including District Managers and Route Personnel.
- Analyze reports and implement corrective actions for unacceptable trends.
- Foster a sales culture that promotes team selling through Together In Growth (TIG) and Shared Lead programs.
- Collaborate with Sales Manager, Account Executives, District Managers (DM), and Route Sales Representatives (RSR) on TIG opportunities and TIG days.
- Coordinate and direct assistance for new account installations as directed by the General Manager.
- Manage daily activities of Customer Service Program(s) for the Service Department.
- Ensure District Managers visit all required customers quarterly to review growth and service opportunities.
- Ensure District Managers conduct weekly Route Performance Meetings with each RSR.
- Hold RSRs accountable for timely response and resolution of all Service Requests.
- Set clear expectations for customer service and lead by example.
- Ensure DMs spend 60% of their time traveling with service professionals on route, conducting observations and visiting customer locations.
- Ensure DMs and RSRs proactively follow up on at-risk accounts and expeditiously resolve service concerns.
- Coach and assist DMs on negotiating and securing renewal agreements that protect pricing and profitability.
- Recruit, select, and hire DM and Route Sales employees.
- Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with each DM to review performance trends, coach, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Deliver and participate in training to meet customer retention and service goals.
- Maintain daily remote contact with DMs to address pending items and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct performance evaluations for District Managers, providing detailed feedback on management, leadership skills, and goal attainment.
- Ensure DMs effectively collect accounts receivable and provide assistance when necessary.
- Ensure DMs protect and manage merchandise control processes.
- Promote and sustain a safety culture.
- Investigate and report all accidents or incidents within 24 hours of notification.
- Maintain high moral character and business ethics aligned with Vestis Corporate Standards.
- Support continuous improvement by making and implementing suggestions.
- Lead meetings and complete administrative work to improve customer satisfaction.
- Directly resolve or elicit expertise from company staff to resolve matters pertaining to profitable, safe, and efficient Market Center operations.
- Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the Market Center.
- Comply with Federal Regulations and Company safety policies and practices to promote safety awareness.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Spend 70% of time in MC Service Department driving execution of service processes to meet expected results and 30% in the field teaching, training, and developing District Managers (exception: if routes report directly, 60% in MC Service Department, 40% in field).
- For Service Managers with direct routes: spend 20% of time traveling to customer locations and/or conducting route observations.
- Ensure direct RSRs respond to and resolve all Service Requests timely.
- Coordinate collections for accounts receivable with direct routes.
- Complete in-person Route Performance meetings with each direct RSR weekly.
- Maintain daily remote contact with RSRs to address pending items and ensure timely resolution.
