About the Role
BTY's Infrastructure division is seeking a Project Consultant - Renewable Energy to support technical due diligence assignments for lenders, investors, and owners across wind, solar, and energy storage projects, as well as other services within the department.
Responsibilities
- Support high-quality technical due diligence across design and contractual scopes required for financing and transactions.
- Review electrical and grid interconnection designs, including single-line diagrams, compliance requirements, and interconnection studies, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support independent solar (PVSyst) and/or Wind Energy yield assessments, including data screening, loss factor analysis, and probabilistic scenarios (P50/P90).
- Assist in translating technical findings into financial model inputs and identifying commercial implications for lenders and investors.
- Prepare clear, concise, lender-ready report sections and supporting documentation within project timelines.
- Collaborate with wider infrastructure advisory colleagues on permitting contracts, and schedule reviews.
- Contribute to technical assessments of key project contracts (TSA, EPC, O&M).
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and project documentation to support technical advisory engagements.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to the preparation of client deliverables and presentations.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in technical due diligence, Independent Engineer work, or developer/owner-side technical roles.
- Exposure to project coordination or technical leadership within due diligence or development contexts.
- Experience advising on utility scale Solar or BESS assets.
- Self-motivated with good organizational, communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and ability to work to own initiatives.
- Demonstrates attention to detail to produce quality work with good time management.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Eligible to work in Canada or pursuing a work permit.
- This role does not require Canadian work experience, though relevant qualifications, skills, or certifications may still apply.
