About the Role

The cashier plays a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives by accurately and efficiently processing all cash and credit card transactions.

Responsibilities

• Process all cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the establishment.
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area.
• Keep reports of cash and credit transactions.
• Adhere to opening/closing cash register procedures.
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Organize customers’ purchase orders.
• Scan items correctly and collect payments.
• Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts.
• Assist with stocking, pricing, and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the cashier stations.
• Stock cashier stations with supplies.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance, wear company uniform and nametag.
• Assist with training of new cashiers.
• Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and professional conduct.
• Greet customers, maintain a positive attitude, and smile.
• Answer customer questions.
• Handle returns/exchanges positively.
• Provide basic store and product information.
• Meet company’s customer service standards.
• Follow all upselling rules and procedures.
• Complete all applicable department training programs.
• Promote sales of current promotions (up-selling).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
