About the Role

The Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers by managing clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations within a medical facility. This role involves direct patient interaction, including preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures like phlebotomy and specimen collection, and maintaining a sterile environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
  • Assist healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners, during medical procedures and examinations.
  • Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples accurately and safely.
  • Process and label specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment to prevent infection.
  • Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, and manage patient flow within the clinic.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Support administrative tasks such as billing, coding, and inventory management as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 1 year experience in a Medical office or Healthcare environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Proficiency in taking and recording vital signs accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of medical instruments and sterilization procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for patient interaction and administrative duties.
