About the Role

Assists with the transportation of residents and monitors the program during assigned shifts, ensuring the safety of residents and the program site.

Responsibilities

  • Transports residents to appointments, self-help meetings, events, and other activities.
  • Performs breathalyzer testing and toxicology screenings upon return from outings.
  • Coordinates transportation plans with onsite staff.
  • Monitors the program site and residents to ensure their safety.
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and pursues continued education on safe driving.
  • Operates agency vehicles safely.
  • Inspects vehicles daily to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assists with vehicle maintenance logs and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures agency vehicles are kept fueled and presentable.
  • Responds to crisis and emergency situations.
  • Addresses immediate social or housekeeping issues.
  • Inputs data into the agency database as requested.
  • Performs general program tasks such as answering telephones, filing, shopping, and assisting with kitchen responsibilities.
  • Responds to vehicle issues and emergencies.
  • Attends and participates in all required program and agency activities.
  • Attends and participates in all job-related workshops and in-service trainings.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of contagious diseases and takes precautionary measures.
  • Responds professionally to incidents involving contagious diseases.
  • Assists in implementing agency policies and procedures.
  • Integrates Trauma-Informed Care principles into all duties and interactions.
  • Maintains compliance with Federal Confidentiality (42 CFR, Part 2), HIPAA, Medicaid, HUD, and other regulations.
  • Carries out other duties essential to the stated responsibilities.
  • Maintains regular attendance at the work location.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with transportation.
  • A high school or equivalency diploma.
  • Minimum of 6 months' human services experience.
  • Must possess a valid New York State driver's license.

Education Level

  • High school or equivalency diploma
