Responsibilities

  • Manages patient health concerns and symptoms via telephone using physician-approved protocols.
  • Assesses, educates, and provides crisis intervention during telephone interactions.
  • Responds to and prioritizes incoming patient messages and test results.
  • Schedules appointments, tests, and procedures, and obtains insurance prior-authorization.
  • Reviews and authorizes/denies provider-ordered prescriptions according to guidelines.
  • Delivers patient education based on individual needs and provider/group policy.
  • Educates patients and families about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Responds to patient questions and provides reassurance.
  • Assesses patient's medical condition and provides medical advice using Duly Health and Care protocols, Provider directive, or an approved Nursing Triage Manual.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed patient records and pertinent information.
  • Posts tests and documents patient education provided.
  • Enters all pertinent communications with the patient into the Medical Record.
  • Performs and delegates tasks to facilitate patient care.
  • Is aware of coding and reimbursement issues.
  • Assists other office clinical and non-clinical staff by answering questions and providing assistance.
  • Assists in orienting and training new staff.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve or enhance nursing and leadership skills.
  • Utilizes current nursing practices to provide patient care, focusing on patient needs and exemplifying service excellence.
  • Functions as a patient advocate as the initial contact for patient-related issues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in nursing.
  • Knowledge of nursing skills in accordance with nursing standards in the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred; new graduates may be considered under specific circumstances.

Salary/Compensations

  • $27.00-38.90 per hour
  • Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
