About the Role
Oneida Health is seeking a Per Diem GI Scheduler to manage patient scheduling for outpatient clinics in Oneida. This role involves assisting patients and referring providers in scheduling GI procedures, requiring the ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong desire to establish excellent working relationships.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and scheduling surgeries as designated by physicians using a computerized scheduling system.
- Working as a team member within the patient services department and all other departments.
- Recognizing and responding appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
- Documenting work processes as required with attention to detail.
- Coordinating processes and routing all paperwork as required to meet physician and facility requirements.
- Ensuring efficient and effective telephone communication.
- Following all written protocols and procedures.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Surgical scheduling experience or related required
