About the Role

The RBC Investor and Services and Technology team is seeking a Software Developer to support an application that processes FX transactions. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of solutions on the Kondor+ based platform for key RBC initiatives. You will partner across IT and Business to assess, research, and analyze business, technical, and system needs, implementing technical solutions that meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

Participate in the technical design, development, and implementation of application systems.
Apply complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.
Organize and participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs, and unit test plans.
Review issues and requirements from business partners.
Develop, code, and document programs of average to high complexity using different languages such as SQL, Java, Unix scripting.
Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
Troubleshoot to determine root cause and resolve incidents and project issues.
Manage all aspects of testing and verification.
Ensure adequate technical documentation and training material.
Deliver new design and development specifications based on customer requirements, adhering to standard procedures and techniques.
Create test transactions and run tests to find errors and revise application programs.
Participate in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes.
Support the implementation of application programs and fix any existing or new bugs.

Requirements

Understanding of Forex Exchange business.
Knowledge of trading workflows, risk management, and back office operations.
Experience with Trading application platform (Front and Back-office).
A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
5 years development background in banking technology preferred.
Strong SQL, Linux and Java skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Understand IT Standards, Methodologies, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ITIL processes.
Participate in post-implementation reviews of application development content and processes.
