About the Role
As an Integrations Engineer, you will own Runlayer's coverage surface, ensuring seamless integration with AI clients, agent frameworks, and MCP servers. This hands-on role involves end-to-end ownership of integrations, from design and launch to monitoring and debugging, aiming to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact customers. You will play a key part in shaping the future of the integrations function.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of integrations: design, build, launch, monitor, and debug connectors across clients, agent frameworks, and MCP servers.
- Ensure all major AI clients (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, and others) function seamlessly through Runlayer, covering authentication, policy enforcement, hooks, and session extraction.
- Provide identity, governance, and observability for agents built on any ADK (Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, Google ADK, etc.), including agent accounts and attributing MCP calls.
- Maintain the reliability of over 50 third-party MCP connectors, proactively addressing upstream breaks and authentication regressions, and guiding customers through migrations.
- Own end-to-end reliability through coverage smoke-tests on every release, comprehensive monitoring, and rapid debugging under customer pressure.
- Develop the OAuth broker (TypeScript/Express service for OAuth 2.1 flows) and associated tooling for scaffolding, validating, and publishing new integrations efficiently.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, partnerships, and customers to influence the evolution of the integrations function.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in building integrations, SDKs, or developer-platform connectors, with a strong understanding of partner API design.
- Expert-level knowledge of OAuth 2.1, including implementation of authorization servers, token brokers, or complex multi-provider OAuth flows.
- Fluency in the agent ecosystem, with experience building or operating MCP servers and shipping on at least one agent framework.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.
- Experience building integration test suites that interact with real third-party APIs, including authentication.
- An operational mindset, with experience owning production systems, prioritizing reliability, and performing root cause analysis for issues.
- Experience maintaining a catalog or marketplace of third-party integrations, including versioning, deprecation, and migration strategies.
- Daily use of AI-native workflows, delegating tasks to agents.
