About the Role
Early Media is seeking an Assistant Editor to manage footage, projects, and post-production pipelines from set to delivery. This role involves supporting producers, editors, and finishing artists to develop comprehensive post-production skills.
Responsibilities
- Ingest footage, ensure safe backups, organize files, and generate proxies for editorial.
- Build and maintain organized Premiere projects, including syncing audio, pulling selects, organizing bins, and assembling scenes.
- Manage media throughout its lifecycle, tracking data from production to delivery and archive.
- Assist editors by cutting scenes, pulling selects, finding assets, and addressing stakeholder notes.
- Manage finishing workflows, including conforming sequences in Resolve, building AAFs, prepping VFX pulls, and handling final layback and delivery.
- Provide media management support on set, including drive preparation, safe media transfer, and footage ingest for QC and playback.
Requirements
- A relentless problem-solver who learns quickly and finds solutions.
- Proficient in Premiere Pro, sync sound, proxy, and multicam workflows.
- Comfortable using DaVinci Resolve for prep, conform, and delivery.
- Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in file management and backups.
- Clear communicator with editors, producers, and finishing artists.
- Willing to work on set for media management support.
- Passionate about post-production with a desire to learn and develop skills.
