About the Role
Assist the Group Manager with the day-to-day running of the unit, manage your team, and provide excellent customer service. Provide general front-of-house services, including preparing orders and overseeing service.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operation of the coffee shop, ensuring efficient service and high standards throughout the school day.
- Prepare and serve a range of food and beverages, including coffee, snacks, sandwiches, and freshly made pizzas.
- Lead and support catering staff, allocating tasks, providing guidance, and promoting a positive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, HACCP, and health and safety regulations, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Deliver excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, and visitors, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Manage stock control activities, including ordering supplies, checking deliveries, monitoring inventory levels, and reducing waste.
- Operate and oversee cash handling and till procedures, ensuring accurate transactions and financial accountability.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across all food preparation, storage, and customer service areas, ensuring equipment is used and maintained correctly.
Requirements
- Supervisory experience in a café, coffee shop, catering, or hospitality environment.
- Experience preparing and serving fresh food, including pizza production, while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Good understanding of food hygiene regulations, HACCP principles, and health and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, customer service, organisational, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
- Willingness to obtain a Food Safety Level 2 Certificate.
