About the Role
Brookfield Real Estate Group is seeking a professional to manage, review, and participate in fund operations and reporting processes, including financial statements, audits, and investor relations.
Responsibilities
- Manage, review, and participate in fund operations and reporting processes.
- Review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Assist with external audit and tax reporting processes.
- Oversee fund operations and credit facility maintenance.
- Oversee and manage third-party fund administrators.
- Own the fund’s reporting and compliance processes, including GAAP quarterly financial, annual audited financials, tax, and LP/GP reporting.
- Assist and coordinate with other departments to fulfill fund operations and reporting requirements.
- Respond to investor inquiries.
- Review management fee and waterfall calculations.
- Monitor liquidity and manage capital calls, facilitate distributions, and review wires.
- Perform tasks related to forecasting, treasury activities, and financial risk assessments.
- Oversee investor reporting.
- Train, mentor, motivate, and direct team members.
- Manage other fund operations.
Requirements
- 5-6 years of experience with a mix of public/private accounting.
- Fund accounting experience required; PE Real Estate experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate hands-on approach with high standards for accuracy and quality.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to multitask with good time management skills to meet multiple reporting deadlines.
- Strategic thinker focused on efficiency and process improvement.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and financial reporting technical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented with good coaching skills.
- Experience with Investran is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Certified Public Accountant certification strongly preferred.
