About the Role
The Disney Media Player Engineering team is seeking a Senior Product Software Engineer to design and develop a feature-rich, standard streaming media playback library for Apple devices. This role involves creating a layered architecture for media playback that spans across Disney direct-to-consumer brands, ensuring a consistent software architecture and a best-in-class streaming experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions for new features integrating with various Disney media services and back-ends.
- Collaborate on API design with peer teams and front-end teams.
- Conduct research and development for media playback experiences, integration, and testing.
- Participate in project estimation and resource planning.
- Collaborate within a small development team and the larger engineering organization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across various platforms.
- Specialize in Apple technologies such as UIKit, SwiftUI, AVKit, and StoreKit to build world-class applications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience in iOS software development, with 3 years using Swift.
- At least 5 years of industry experience implementing complex user interfaces using Apple's UIKit or SwiftUI.
- At least 3 years of experience in agile processes.
- Demonstrated experience in the full lifecycle of software development (early stage, maintenance, end of life).
- Understanding of design pattern trade-offs (e.g., MVC, MVVM).
- Knowledgeable in programming paradigms including Object Oriented and Reactive.
- Understanding of iOS/TVOS app development lifecycle.
- Experience in Object Oriented Programming.
- Ability to write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Experience with unit test frameworks and continuous integration systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
