About the Role

Join CVS Health's Data, Digital, Analytics, and Technology (DDAT) organization as a Principal Software Development Engineer. Responsibilities

Provide guidance on reference architecture solutions with Product Managers/Owners, Application Architects, and Engineering Leads.
Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives.
Develop well-engineered, flexible, resilient, operable, and maintainable solutions on schedule.
Author technical documentation, including white papers, guides, and how-to's.
Champion a user-centric approach, ensuring accessibility, privacy, and security.
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) oversight and development support for application updates and maintenance.
Mentor and coach architects and engineers to foster technical excellence and innovation.
Define and validate Non-Functional Requirements (performance, scalability, availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, security, observability).
Analyze current architecture and identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to determine optimal business and technology solutions.

Requirements

Proven leader with ability to create technical solutions in large organizations with complex business requirements.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders (Business, Product, Engineering, Platform) and influence application design, data flows, and platform architectures.
Disciplined approach to software development and problem-solving within an Agile environment.
Exceptional systems thinker capable of bridging high-level strategy and detailed implementation.
Experience designing and implementing modern software architectures (microservices, micro-frontend patterns).
Broad technical expertise in cloud platforms, enterprise applications, microservices, APIs, data analytics, networking, and large-scale systems.
Good understanding of ADA and regulatory compliances (PCI, PII, PHI).
Excellent collaboration, influencing, negotiation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.

Education Level

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience
Master's degree is a plus

Salary/Compensations

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
