About the Role
Zanskar is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer, Platform Data to design and operate data pipelines and build web applications that transform diverse data into actionable insights. This role is crucial for organizing Zanskar's data, making it trustworthy and accessible to stakeholders, and directly contributing to displacing carbon emissions in a startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate pipelines that ingest data from multiple sources, reconciling them into clean, well-modeled, findable data.
- Build web applications, including dashboards and internal applications, to deliver data to stakeholders.
- Own features end-to-end, including system architecture, pipelines, APIs, and frontends.
- Ensure the entire system runs smoothly.
- Partner with teams across the organization to understand data needs and build solutions.
- Translate stakeholder needs into shipped products.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining backend data systems and user-facing applications.
- Experience designing schemas and building reliable data pipelines.
- Comfortable deploying and operating systems on a public cloud (AWS or GCP).
- Experience with containers (Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Pulumi and Terraform).
- Ability to research options, make recommendations, and work effectively on unsolved problems.
- Leverage and delegate to AI tools as a core part of the workflow.
