About the Role
Spear Physical and Occupational Therapy seeks motivated occupational (OT) and physical therapists (PT) passionate about hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. This role is for therapists with a solid foundation in hand therapy, eager to build experience through mentorship, advanced training, and hands-on practice. Therapists will set clear patient expectations, provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions, and maintain high standards of clinical excellence and customer service. A collaborative spirit is valued to foster a community environment for patients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop and progress individualized treatment plans including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, custom orthotic fabrication, and patient education
- Empower patients with home programs and strategies that support their functional goals and recovery
- Collaborate closely with referring physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional outcomes
Requirements
- Hold a license (or be license eligible) to practice Occupational or Physical Therapy in the State of New York
- Completed a Level II fieldwork placement or outpatient rotation in hand therapy OR equivalent experience during clinical education
- If transitioning from another practice area, demonstrate a commitment to hand therapy through continuing education coursework or certifications in upper extremity rehabilitation
- Are excited about working toward becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with the support of a collaborative team
- Masters or Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degree
- License to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of New York

- $85,000 - $120,000 a year (Inclusive of incentives)
