About the Role
The Training Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining effective learning programs that support business objectives and align with Air Canada’s strategic ambition to become a global top ten airline.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning outcomes and design/develop learning solutions aligned with adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Utilize instructional design models, processes, and learning theories to produce effective learning programs.
- Manage the development of multiple initiatives/projects with competing timeframes.
- Define instructional direction and drive continuous improvement of learning solutions by designing and curating end-to-end learner experiences.
- Maintain learning programs to ensure their continued effectiveness and relevance.
- Stay familiar with key business processes, functions, and systems, and support cross-functional training team initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Maintain broad industry knowledge and understanding of marketplace trends to develop best-in-class learning solutions.
- Deliver Train-the-Trainer workshops to enable Trainer Readiness.
Requirements
- Adult or Workplace Learning certificate or diploma
- At least 3 years of applied instructional design experience
- Experience in the Hospitality or Airline industries is a strong asset
- Experience designing instructor-led, online, mobile experiences or a blend of methods
- Aptitude for understanding systems and technical concepts quickly
- Strong understanding of ID methodologies and demonstrated application
- Willingness and ability to travel 10-15% of the time
- Must be eligible to work in the country of interest and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Provide proof of eligibility to work prior to start date.
