About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Cybersecurity Detection and Response Analyst to join our London office. This role involves protecting our employees, data, and infrastructure by developing tools and systems for security, handling incident response, and researching and prioritizing threats. You will engineer detection mechanisms, manage the full lifecycle of alerts, and act as an ambassador for cybersecurity best practices across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Developing the tools and systems used to guard the firm
- Handling incident response and remediation
- Researching and prioritizing threats that need to be monitored
- Hunting for threats in our data
- Writing code to detect threats
- Tuning detection to prioritize quality over quantity
- Maintaining full control over alerts
- Owning all stages of the detection and response lifecycle
- Performing unstructured investigations to locate and repair the source of a security issue
- Acting as an ambassador of best practices to the rest of the firm
- Talking to others about personal cybersecurity hygiene
- Learning from colleagues and passing that learning on to new analysts
Requirements
- An avid follower of cybersecurity news
- A strong programmer who can demonstrate high potential and an aptitude for learning
- Comfortable and interested in managing code and configs in version control
- Familiar with threat modeling
- Able to understand how cybersecurity fits into the firm’s broader goals
- Able to clearly communicate security tradeoffs to colleagues
- Able to explain cybersecurity decisions made in your own life
- Able to adapt to changing scenarios
- Able to make challenging decisions under pressure
- Humble about what you know and don’t know
- Not afraid to ask questions and admit mistakes
- An intellectually curious problem solver with a positive, collaborative attitude
- Fluent in English
