About the Role

This role is responsible for filling and delivering orders within Nutrition Services at Toronto General Hospital, ensuring efficient and accurate distribution of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Filling orders for multiple departments/sites applying “First in First out” system when removing items from locations and bin numbers
  • Delivering food trucks and orders to designated locations, as per established schedule, unloading and putting items in designated location
  • Receiving and storing incoming goods, following safety precautions

Requirements

  • At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent
  • 3 months to less than 6 months practical and related experience and/or 3 months to less than 6 months on the job training
  • Must be able to understand verbal work orders and instructions
  • Must be able to read/understand short notes, brief forms, invoices, orders and memos
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN code of conduct standards
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift 11 kg to 20 kg
  • Must be able to tolerate a cold environment (refrigerated work area)
  • Current UHN employees must have successfully completed their probationary period, have a good employee record along with satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN's attendance management program, to be eligible for consideration
