Responsibilities
- Assume leadership for managing multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical and non-technical complexity.
- Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects of infrastructure programs.
- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of program execution across various disciplines.
- Anticipate and identify potential issues and risks, assisting clients with problem-solving and strategic advice.
- Develop and implement program management plans, business processes, and tools to drive efficiency and accountability.
- Direct services provided by multiple large program teams or lead a single mega-project.
- Promote team alignment through effective and regular communications.
- Secure necessary resources for contract compliance.
- Monitor team and financial performance against metrics, adjusting as needed to meet targets.
- Contribute to HDR’s program management growth by building client relationships, expanding services, supporting pursuits, mentoring staff, and supporting practice-wide initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field.
- Hold at least one of the following licenses/certifications: Professional Engineering License (PE or P.Eng), PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, AICP Certification, or CMAA Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of program management experience, with at least four (4) years as a Senior Program Manager.
- Experience leading as a Senior Program Manager or in a similar role on delivery of three or more programs, each with a capital value of $500 million or more.
- Experience delivering concurrent programs with a total value of $500 million or more qualifies as one of the required programs.
- Strong leadership skills with experience building cohesive team culture and managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to executives and large public audiences.
- Management experience with projects/programs using alternative and collaborative delivery methods (DB, PDB, CMAR).
- Familiarity with tools for managing large programs (PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management, asset management, dashboard analytics).
- Experience working in an integrated Program Management Office (PMO) with consultant and client staff.
