About the Role

Under general supervision, provide a safe, therapeutic environment for residents through medication management, recreation, and facility management. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards, support collaborative communication, and ensure a trauma-informed care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Cover nonclinical psychoeducational groups as needed.
  • Observe peer-led activities.
  • Provide transportation when needed.
  • Conduct room and personal belonging searches to ensure safety.
  • Conduct urine toxicology screens as scheduled or randomly.
  • Provide conflict management to residents.
  • Supervise meal preparation by clients to ensure sanitation, safety, and nutritional standards.
  • Complete L2 certification.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, including assigning chores and follow-up.
  • Debrief relevant information to incoming employees during shift exchange.
  • Conduct visible rounds to ensure all residents are accounted for and the environment is safe.
  • Carry out emergency procedures.
  • Notify Residence Manager of any emergency situations immediately.
  • Conduct monthly fire drills.
  • Engage security system.
  • Provide medication observation and monitoring in absence of LPN coverage.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Enter shift notes into electronic client record database per each scheduled shift.
  • Complete group notes into electronic client record database by the end of each shift.
  • Complete incident reports, documenting any unusual incidents or situations.
  • Support the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan.
  • Support the Agency's Core Competency initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License.
  • Two years of experience in the human services field, crisis intervention, residential setting, or emergency services.
  • Knowledge of homeless client issues preferred.
  • Experience with conflict resolution techniques preferred.
  • A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to type and/or perform light lifting.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • All duties must be performed in accordance with CCFCS’s corporate compliance & ethics program.
  • Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
