About the Role
LumApps is seeking a Financial Controller for its US operations to build and scale financial infrastructure. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role responsible for US accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance, playing a key part in the global ERP & Finance tech-stack transformation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all US financial operations including managing statutory reporting & local filings with local accounting firms.
- Manage US GAAP technical accounting and reconciliations between US GAAP and IFRS.
- Act as the primary liaison between the US businesses and European Accounting and Controlling teams.
- Participate in the global close and shareholder reporting.
- Serve as the local subject matter expert on US issues.
- Manage the US portion of the global audit, ensuring all local documentation is robust.
- Lead adoption of new controls and process improvements.
- Serve as the US lead for the planned ERP implementation and other finance tools.
- Ensure US localization requirements are represented and processes flow seamlessly into the global reporting engine.
- Own the end-to-end US Sales Tax project, including design and implementation of Avalara or similar tools.
- Ensure Nexus compliance across all required states as the company expands.
- Support Sales & RevOps teams by acting as the local point of escalation for US Sales teams.
- Provide technical guidance on deal desk queries and contract compliance from a finance perspective.
Requirements
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting status is required.
- US GAAP expertise is essential.
- IFRS is a plus.
- Exposure to US Sales Tax (Nexus) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Avalara or similar tools is strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP implementation is strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial controlling.
- Preferably includes experience in SaaS.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate the cultural nuances of an international organization.
- Thrive as a 'one-person' subject matter expert, enjoying deep technical work, operational support, and strategic direction for ERP & tooling projects.
