About the Role
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating sit-down powered industrial trucks to safely transport, stage, and store materials within the warehouse. This role supports high-volume logistics operations by ensuring accurate inventory movement, efficient material flow, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts such as reach trucks and order pickers to move materials within warehouse aisles and rack systems
- Perform daily equipment inspections and document any safety or maintenance concerns
- Accurately scan, move, and place inventory using RF scanners and warehouse systems
- Load, unload, and stage materials to support production and shipping requirements
- Maintain proper inventory placement and ensure product integrity during handling
- Follow all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and company guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience operating stand-up forklifts (reach truck, order picker) preferred
- Ability to obtain certification for powered industrial equipment
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- Warehouse environment with narrow aisles and elevated racking systems
- Frequent standing for extended periods while operating equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Exposure to moving machinery and moderate to high noise levels
- Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
