About the Role

As the Head of Regulatory Policy, you will shape the regulatory landscape across States to advance Base's mission of increasing energy reliability and affordability nationwide. You will drive advocacy efforts at the regional level, engaging with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to promote policies that enable residential batteries to support consumers and the grid. You will also collaborate with business development to determine target markets and guide market entry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead regulatory strategy across States to advance Base’s mission.
  • Build and maintain relationships with energy commissioners, RTO/ISO principals and staff, other policymakers, and industry groups to advocate for enabling policies.
  • Monitor and analyze federal legislative and regulatory developments, providing insights and action plans.
  • Represent Base in national coalitions, meetings, hearings, and stakeholder forums.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align policy initiatives with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Draft policy proposals, briefs, comments, and testimony to influence decision-makers.
  • Anticipate and navigate policy shifts to ensure Base remains agile.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the energy sector.
  • Strong network within energy and policy circles.
  • Track record of influencing policy outcomes, ideally in energy, utilities, or technology sectors.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into persuasive policy arguments.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and prioritizes impact.
  • A commitment to building a more reliable grid for all.
  • Work in-person.
