About the Role

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a CDL B Side Load Truck Driver to join their team. Safety is a top priority in this role.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
• Transport material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
• Perform pre and post-trip inspections to ensure truck compliance with safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
• Navigate congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
• Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid Class A or B CDL.
• Must have an Airbrake Endorsement.
• Maintain a great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a Driver or Helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
• Ability to read and understand a map.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing and able to work required hours, which may include weekends, nights, and holidays, as allowed under DOT regulation.
• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential.
