About the Role
St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to produce high-quality mammograms, assist radiologists in procedures, and provide compassionate care to patients. The hospital is committed to utilizing the latest medical technology and maintaining a tradition of service that spans generations.
Responsibilities
- Produce radiographs of the breasts.
- Position patients with the x-ray machine and regulate technical factors to produce radiographs.
- Assist radiologist in procedures.
- Prepare patients and maintain a daily work log.
- Produce high-quality mammograms.
- Position and transfer patients to and from the x-ray room using proper safety techniques.
- Select proper technical factors for examinations.
- Develop films by automatic or daylight processing.
- Assist physician in administering opaque media.
- Assist physician during needle localization, biopsies, and stereotactic procedures.
- Draw up contrast media for opaque exams using sterile technique.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology.
- Licensed for New York State in Radiologic Technology.
- Advanced Registered in Mammography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Maintain CURRENT MQSA requirement.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
