About the Role
The General Manager will lead food and beverage operations across three dining halls, serving approximately two million meals annually. This key operations manager will lead a team to provide excellent service, leveraging business knowledge, relationship-building skills, financial acumen, and a focus on safety.
Responsibilities
- Leads a team providing operational expertise in contracted services with hands-on execution management.
- Manages client and community relationships, assessing operations and developing plans for optimal service and satisfaction.
- Builds, develops, and leads a management team and staff capable of achieving organizational objectives.
- Recommends methods, resources, and implementation for service improvement and growth based on operational needs, capabilities, and contractual obligations.
- Manages budget in partnership with Finance and assists in designing improvements to optimize financial performance and operational productivity.
- Manages compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes, maintaining associated records and reports.
- Ensures compliance with Aramark's standards of operation, including safety standards and Business Conduct Policy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management is required; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven leadership experience (typically 5-10 years) with P&L responsibility in hospitality, retail, facilities, direct store delivery, or food and beverage industries.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with broad knowledge of management practices, business judgment, and client/consumer interaction.
- Ability to hire, assess, develop, and grow talent.
- Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements, including identifying opportunities within contract terms and conditions.
- Established communication and teamwork skills to work with all organizational levels.
- Proven success in a repeatable business model, including leading through change and turnaround initiatives.
- May involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking/standing.
- May require uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
