About the Role

IPC, a leading independent wealth management firm acquired by Canada Life, is seeking a professional to ensure the availability, performance, and integrity of systems, applications, and servers. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting business-critical production systems, as well as developing and maintaining SQL scripts, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily monitoring of systems, applications, servers, and key processes to ensure availability, performance, and integrity, including verification of scheduled jobs and backups.
  • Monitor production environments, system alerts, incidents, and service requests; troubleshoot issues, escalate when required, and ensure resolution within established SLAs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support and maintain business-critical production systems.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade applications and supporting infrastructure.
  • Manage database synchronization, refreshes, and migrations across UAT, Regression, FIT, Training, and Production environments.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain SQL scripts, ETL processes, and reporting solutions using SQL Server technologies, including SSIS and SSRS.
  • Create, modify, and maintain business reports, database views, data extracts, and ad hoc queries to support operational and business requirements.
  • Perform data analysis and provide customized reporting solutions to support decision-making across departments.
  • Provide first and second-level application support by investigating issues, resolving technical inquiries, and communicating solutions to end users.
  • Manage and respond to incidents and support tickets through the incident management system, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system-related issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancement opportunities and maintaining technical documentation for application support processes.
  • Partner with Account Managers and stakeholders to evaluate change requests, manage issues, and establish implementation priorities.
  • Produce performance and capacity-planning reports and recommend improvements to support future business growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server skills, including query development, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages and SSRS reports.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience supporting applications across multiple environments and system architectures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, Apache Web Server, and related technologies.
