About the Role

The People Team Assistant will support the needs of the People department, focusing on HR and benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, and special projects. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals seeking a career in human resources, requiring professionalism, attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires.
  • Assist with new hire orientation, serving as a primary point of contact.
  • Liaise with IT, Facilities, and department heads to ensure new employees have necessary resources.
  • Manage and coordinate offboarding procedures, including scheduling exit interviews and processing documentation.
  • Collect, verify, and process new hire documentation in compliance with laws and policy.
  • Provide general HR and benefits administration support, including data changes in Workday.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment processes, including employee communication and coordination with benefits providers.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Complete employment verifications accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Audit HR, benefits, and payroll documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain and update personnel files, ensuring records are current and organized.
  • Assist with the employee evaluation process, including scheduling, tracking, and filing.
  • Align and work closely with the global people operations team to provide support.
  • Manage monthly HR and benefits invoicing, including processing, tracking, and reconciling.
  • Coordinate purchase of employee gifts and recognition items, managing expenses and records.
  • Draft HR communications including announcements, policy updates, and employee-facing correspondence.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including calendar management and meeting coordination.
  • Support HR special projects and initiatives as directed.
  • Assist with job postings and candidate coordination as needed during recruitment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role (internship experience welcome).
  • Familiarity with an HRIS platform (e.g., Workday, BambooHR, ADP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic employment law and HR best practices a plus.
