About the Role

The Specialty Assistant Store Manager in Training (SASM-IT) role at The Home Depot provides hands-on experience in key management functions. Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured training program covering retail store management, operations, customer service, sales, profitability, and company policies.
  • Learn and demonstrate tactics for staffing, scheduling, stock deficiency resolution, associate supervision in selling, customer issue resolution, and service needs for installed sales/special orders and product sales.
  • Learn and demonstrate the performance management process, including performance reviews and disciplinary procedures.
  • Complete all assigned training modules and assessments.
  • Supervise associates in selling efforts, lead GET culture, and set an example.
  • Drive customer service and associate engagement, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of customer concerns.
  • Collaborate with partners to plan merchandise placement, signing, and support stock integrity through inventory management.
  • Learn to maintain and operate store equipment and systems, and manage daily financial operations.
  • Perform Opening, Closing MOD, and other whole-store responsibilities.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure self and associates follow all safety and hazmat procedures and Safety Matters guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
