About the Role

Blue Owl is seeking an Analyst / Associate to join the Responsible Investing & ESG team. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence ESG integration across the firm's investment platforms, supporting value creation, risk management, and transparency for investors. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, a quick learner, a strong communicator, and has a keen interest in responsible investing.

Responsibilities

  • Run the annual ESG data collection cycle across portfolio companies and GP stakes managers.
  • Build out financed emissions methodology.
  • Explore how AI can streamline data and reporting workflows.
  • Shape how ESG integration is assessed and strengthened across platforms and strategies.
  • Build and maintain systems that track LP ESG engagement across funds.
  • Own investor responses and the firm's ESG content library.
  • Contribute to marketing decks, thought leadership, and public disclosures.
  • Manage Corporate Sustainability disclosure document.
  • Oversee UNPRI reporting cycle.
  • Participate in industry groups like PCAF.
  • Partner closely with investment teams, Legal & Compliance, Sales, and Corporate Operations.
  • Take on strategic projects as team priorities evolve.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in ESG/sustainable investing, banking, asset management, or consulting.
  • Exposure to private markets is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment and build trust with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo while remaining open to diverse perspectives.
  • Comfortable setting priorities, managing projects, working through complex data analytics, and problem-solving across ESG topics.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage AI as a tool to drive efficiency.
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams and hard external deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ESG and sustainability standards and frameworks such as SASB/ISSB, PRI, TCFD is a plus.
  • Experience with ESG data platforms and analytics tools such as emissions estimations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with RFP/DDQ management platforms, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and ESG rating agency portals (e.g., MSCI) is a plus.
