About the Role
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Strategic Team Lead – Cardiometabolic & Rare Disease to join the Market Access and Strategic Customers department. This role focuses on addressing unmet medical needs in various therapeutic areas by developing and implementing market access strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring product value propositions resonate with decision-makers and payers.
Responsibilities
- Lead designated Market Access Strategy Teams for a portfolio of assets.
- Develop and implement market access strategies for products within the portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing public and private reimbursement strategic plans to support asset value propositions for decision-makers and payers.
- Collaborate with the Market Access leadership team to coordinate personnel resources for reimbursement activities.
- Act as the Market Access product lead with other J&J departments (Sales & Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Leadership) to achieve brand reimbursement and launch objectives.
- Lead a cross-functional team in developing and implementing data generation plans and projects (e.g., health economic analysis, database analysis, outcomes research studies, resource use surveys, patient-preference studies) to support reimbursement strategies.
- Lead the evidence generation process with Medical Affairs to support data generation requirements for products within the portfolio.
- Lead team development of negotiation strategies, gain local and global approvals, and co-lead negotiations with payors across Canada to support access for J&J products.
- Collaborate with the Access field team to ensure alignment of national and regional reimbursement strategies.
- Present clinical data, health economic data, and product value messages to payors and other external stakeholders.
- Contribute to global access strategies by representing Canadian requirements and leveraging global resources for local business needs.
- Lead and facilitate advisory boards and research projects to test reimbursement strategies and messaging.
- Manage portfolio budgets.
Requirements
- A minimum of an Undergraduate degree in life sciences, pharmacy, economics, or health service sciences is required.
- 5+ years of Market Access experience in the pharmaceutical or health-related industry is required.
- Strong business insight is required, including data assessment capabilities, market dynamics, portfolio planning, understanding of the marketing process, negotiation skills, critical thinking, innovative ideas, and creative problem-solving.
- In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical lifecycle management and the market access/reimbursement environment is required.
- In-depth knowledge of health technology assessment and health economic and outcomes research methodology & budget impact analyses.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and drive execution with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of partnering and collaborating effectively across the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- This position may require up to 20% travel.
