About the Role

This role involves teaching EDEA 204-001. Drawing, a course focused on developing sound drafting skills through the study of organic forms and the human figure in various media. The course is scheduled for Fall 2026 and is not team-taught or offered online.

Responsibilities

• Teach EDEA 204-001. Drawing, focusing on the development of sound drafting skills through the study of organic forms and the human figure in various media.
• Facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences using myCourses, ZOOM, and other similar online platforms.
• Integrate pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

• Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (e.g., Visual Art Education) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school artist-teacher with a background in the visual arts.
• Expert knowledge of drawing canons, drawing skills, influential painting schools, and various drawing techniques and mediums.
• Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Experience as a visual arts teacher in the Quebec educational system.
• Familiarity with the Professional Competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.
• Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec.
• Proficient in English communication, both verbally and in writing.
