About the Role
Mae is a digital health solution focused on improving maternal health by providing culturally competent care and support. This role is crucial for connecting eligible health plan members with Mae's services, addressing access gaps, and improving health outcomes for mothers and babies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outbound calls to eligible health plan members.
- Introduce Mae's services clearly and member-centrically.
- Explain the benefits of pregnancy, postpartum, and doula support.
- Guide interested members through the enrollment and onboarding process.
- Utilize internal tools to identify members for outreach and track call activity.
- Accurately document outreach activity, member status, and follow-up needs.
- Employ trust-building, active listening, and motivational communication to support member engagement.
- Handle unanswered calls, hesitation, and rejection professionally and with resilience.
- Provide feedback to the team regarding outreach barriers, member questions, and conversion improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in outbound outreach, patient engagement, enrollment, sales, appointment setting, or a high-volume call center environment.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed outreach, enrollment, sales, or conversion goals.
- Comfort making a high volume of outbound calls in a remote work environment.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly.
- Ability to build trust quickly with members who may be unsure, busy, or hesitant.
- Confidence in asking members to complete enrollment during the same conversation.
- Resilience, maturity, and professionalism when handling rejection or sensitive conversations.
- Strong organization and follow-through with documentation and follow-up tasks.
- Comfort using tools such as Slack, Gmail, CRM systems, spreadsheets, dialers, or internal platforms.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a private, quiet workspace for confidential member conversations.
- Experience working with Medicaid populations or health plan members (Preferred).
- Experience in maternal health, community health, or social services (Preferred).
- Experience working in a metrics-driven environment (Preferred).
