About the Role
The Risk Group's mission is to help the Bank achieve its goals while managing risks within the Bank’s risk tolerance and strengthening the risk culture. The Group’s role is to serve as the Bank’s second line of defense to ensure effective risk management. The Identity and Access Management Division within the Cybersecurity operations function focuses on developing, executing and maintaining IAM programs, that promotes resiliency by identifying and mitigating cyber threats through policy and compliance, risk-based controls, training and consultation, reporting and remediation, while developing continuous enhancements to meet demands of ever-growing cyber threat landscape. The IAM Operations Manager will help maintain the Bank’s cyber resilience by executing hands‑on triage for the IAM operational work, maintaining strict SLAs, and operational enhancements across FRBNY’s on‑premises and cloud environments. This role is essential to ensure timely and effective response to IAM threats impacting the Bank’s mission and operations.
Responsibilities
- Guide team efforts for daily and BAU (business as usual) IAM operations
- Lead the team through standardization of IAM processes across business areas and in-line with system processes
- Lead and contribute in the strategic initiatives either local to the bank or with the system IT partners to standardize and enhance IAM operations to help reduce cyber risks and build an environment on latest Industry standard processes
- Drive implementation of automation patterns that will increase efficiency and user benefits
- Lead the team on identifying and remediating IAM risks in current processes
- Lead the team to increase identification, reporting and remediation of IAM policies and standards across the business areas
- Mature KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to track program maturity
- Collaborate with management on capacity management and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate on enhancing Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) to include IAM lifecycle events with FRS supported Identity providers to increase access standardization across the Bank
- Collaborate with system on implementation of IAM controls for AI deployment and usage
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with staff development including coaching and mentoring
- Proven success in leading Identity and Access Management team or Cyber Security team
- Proven success with risk management with focus on to operational aspects of a security domain, preferably Access Management
- Good understanding of data and analytics with data visualization skills
- Proven success with automation and maturing KPIs and KRIs
- Good understanding of IAM controls with AI deployments
- Good understanding of AI Tools and its usage
- Proficiency analyzing logs/events across SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk), analytics tools (e.g., Tableau), and other security telemetry sources.
- Solid conceptual knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and system architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize information and explain it
- Organized and resourceful, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to assimilate new information and learn new tools/systems
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- This position requires a National Security Clearance, access to which is limited to U.S. Citizens.
