About the Role
As a Gaekeeper/Escort for Fright Fest, you will enhance the guest experience by managing ticket collection at Haunted House entrances and/or supporting scare actors. Your primary responsibilities include verifying tickets, ensuring smooth access, and providing an engaging atmosphere while assisting performers. You will focus on maintaining safety and managing crowd flow, contributing to the event's thrilling ambiance. Ideal candidates possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to remain composed in a high-energy environment, delivering top-notch guest service.
Responsibilities
- Manage queue line formation at haunted attractions.
- Assist in ticket scanning for haunted attractions.
- Collaborate with other gatekeepers/escorts/leadership to maintain consistent throughput at the attraction.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of attraction, zone, or performance venue.
- Energetically interact with guests for the duration of the shift.
- Memorize or read necessary dialogue, safety spiels, emergency exit plans, safety operating procedures, and park guidelines.
- Be alert and aware of guest disturbances or harassment of actors in the designated zone.
- Serve as a contact point between actors and Public Safety if issues arise.
- Wear and maintain a high visibility jacket provided by Entertainment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of attraction, zone, or performance venue.
- Engage in friendly interactions with guests who have concerns or questions.
- Maintain all guidelines outlined in department and character training.
- Willingly perform duties in any department at The Great Escape Resort when necessary.
- Be an active team member of the Operations Division and the Entertainment Department.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.
- Follow all delegated tasks assigned by Entertainment Supervisor or as stated in the Entertainment Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work weekends 9/26-10/25 (plus Columbus Day 10/12) from 4pm up to 10pm.
- Must be able to sit or stand as needed.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions and in both natural and artificial lighting including Strobes, Fog, Haze, and other technical/special effects.
- Must be alert, attentive, observant, and assertive as needed in a fast-paced, multi-functional position.
- Must be willing and able to interact with guests on an individual level as well as large groups of all ages.
- Comply with all company and safety guidelines as listed in the employee handbook.
- Other duties as requested.
