About the Role
Sydor Optics is seeking a motivated and hands-on Optical Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the double-side fabrication of precision plano optics, supporting cutting-edge industries. You will collaborate with talented professionals, solve complex challenges, and help deliver custom optical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic operation of 2X grinding or polishing equipment.
- Replace polishing pads when damaged or worn.
- Conduct regular cleaning and basic upkeep of 2X equipment.
- Use micrometers to measure part thickness.
- Handle and clean optics.
Requirements
- Fundamental knowledge and experience using 2X fabrication equipment.
- Ability to use micrometers for measuring part thickness.
- Basic blueprint reading (optical drawings).
- Proven success working in a teamwork environment.
- Math skills including decimals and unit conversions (standard/metric).
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
- Good eyesight (or corrected with eyewear).
