About the Role
As an Associate in the Direct Equity group, you will manage the full investment life cycle, from evaluating opportunities to monitoring and exiting investments, working on deal teams to drive the investment process.
Responsibilities
- Support senior team members in originating new investment opportunities.
- Evaluate prospective investments by assessing key risks/merits and developing cogent investment theses.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and lead diligence calls with GP sponsors and portfolio companies.
- Perform rigorous financial analyses to support investment decisions, including valuation, structure, and returns.
- Prepare Investment Committee memoranda and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Assist deal team members with underwriting, negotiating, and closing investments.
- Contribute to the ongoing management of investments to enhance value across the portfolio.
- Contribute to pursuing creative and optimal exit strategies to maximize returns.
- Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and current trends across private equity and other private markets.
- Begin networking to develop relationships internally with colleagues and externally with GPs, LPs, intermediaries, etc.
- Represent the firm in the market by networking and speaking at industry conferences and other events.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a relevant role on the sell-side or buy-side.
- Solid foundation of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Strong Communication Skills.
